The rides/amusements at the Illawarra Carnival are designed for use by participants who meet the displayed height requirements.

The amusements/rides are recreational activities and there are risks of injury to participants and their property. By using or engaging in a ride/amusement you accept these risks and agree that the owners, operators and landlords do not have or accept any liability for any injury suffered as a result of you accepting these risks.

Parents or Guardians must evaluate these risks before allowing persons in their control to use or engage in any ride or amusement.

Use of any ride or amusement is restricted for Guests with certain physical and/or medical conditions. Please check the signage at the entrance to the ride for applicable restrictions.

This is a risk warning given pursuant to Section 5M of the Civil Liability Act 2002.

• Armbands are valid ONLY for Thursday nights during the Illawarra Carnival – 5.30pm to 9.30pm only
• Joylands staff ONLY to attach armbands. We do NOT give out armbands for safe keeping.  All parties MUST be present.
• Broken or damaged armbands will not be accepted
• Height restrictions apply on all rides. An armband does not give right of way over height restrictions
• Any persons misbehaving or not following rules of behaviour/conduct will have their armband removed and non-refunded
• By your participation, you accept the inherent risks of possible injury or harm associated with the amusement rides and attractions at the Illawarra Carnival and the inherent risks associated with any activity onsite
• You should consider this participation in a responsible manner and with good judgement – particularly if you have a health or medical condition, are pregnant or other physical limitations
• We will not be liable for any personal injury or loss where negligence cannot be attributed to the owners and operators of Joyland Amusements Pty Ltd
• No alcohol or glassware are permitted into the carnival
• Due to safety or operational requirements, physical restrictions and/or clothing or accessory restrictions may apply on some rides and attractions
• Restrictions or limitations on access to the rides and attractions may be imposed at any time
• You may be evicted from the Illawarra Carnival for inappropriate behaviour
• You may be refused entry or evicted if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol
• We may close rides & attractions and/or the carnival on a permanent or temporary basis due to inclement weather, safety, refurbishment, maintenance, Acts of God, or other reasons
• In the event of inclement weather, and the carnival closes for safety reasons, unlimited ride pass will be transferred to a later date.
